About Us

Located in Opihikao in the Puna district of the Island of Hawaii, Kama’ili Nursery was started in 1987 by Afa and Beverly Tuaolo.   Our twelve acre farm is situated on an old lava flow.   We are lucky to live on our farm in a scenic area of the Big Island.   We are totally energy self-sufficient.  This has helped up weather a few natural disasters including Hurricane Iselle in 2014 and the eruption of Kilauea in 2018.  Our farm did suffer damage caused by volcanic gases from the eruption.  However, we have been fortunate to be able to return to farming and the life we love.

In the past, our focus was supplying high quality fresh flowers to wholesalers, florists, and events planners. We are now offering our flowers directly to the public.  There is nothing like beautiful Hawaiian orchids to brighten-up someone’s smile.
